First, I am so very very sorry for taking so long in commenting, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the fic and more with the fact I was waiting for the perfect moment to read it and then I needed to put some order to my feelings - or what I wanted to say wouldn't make any sense at all. Not that.. I've gotten better at ordering my thoughts, but I'm trying to. I AM.

For once, the story was perfect. I mean, literally. Perfect. It was everything I could've wished for and I was (literally) moved to tears while reading it, sobbing just because it managed to pull at my heartstrings so beautifully. And I love, love, how it was so much more on the contemplative side; it was the kind of introspective fic I don't see often. It was exactly what I was in the mood to read and everything that I could've hoped for regarding all the Kame/Pi/Jin/KT leaving affair. You grasped their personalities and inner contemplations wonderfully, despite writing from Kame's POV being tricky and hard most of the time, but this.. it nailed it. The parallel

Taguchi buys him a walking stick. Koki gives him chocolate. Ueda tells him to tie his hair back during dance rehearsals. Nakamaru shares an umbrella with him.

It stops his heart, just for a second, when he remembers that Bem wouldn’t take his hat off in front of others, even if it were rude to keep it on indoors. He remembers that Bem can’t feel the sun through the layers of his clothes and Kame’s breath is caught in his throat.

guuh ♥..so this was...introspective and contemplative in such a gorgeous fashion.I love how you grasped and explored the issues of identities and almost in a fashion goals, where kame wanted to stay or wherein his priorities lay, but especially the contrast..between Kame and Yamapi. I have a thing for character contrasts and studies..exploring the different layers and where two people might align and diverge in their choices, their desires etc. and you handled the whole idea so well
