Lots to post about KellyMarie's weekend in Louisiana. I'll start at the end, since today's post is the shortest.

We woke up a bit late (had a late night) and did Chimes brunch because KM has pretty much been craving that since she left last time.

Here are the officially sanctioned hotels. Any recommendations among the three? The convention center is where all the meetings will take place (duh).

no real recommendations as i haven't stayed in any of them :D doubletree will get you closer to the action in the quarter, but it's still at the Canal edge so it doesn't put you in the best walking distance from everything (although certainly closer than any of the others...and maybe it's what you consider walking distance, i realize that since i'm more used to driving than walking, things don't seem close to me when they very likely are). Embassy of course puts you closest to the convention, and also to a number of restaurants in that area (Cochon, Emeril's, etc). I guess you could decide on whether or not you'd like to be closer to work or play. while public transportation is not something i am used to using, New Orleans does do a decent job with cabs since conventions are the norm. so you can decide if you want to cab into the convention everyday, or just plan to cab to dinner at night. are you going by yourself?
