“Is that your idea of a balanced meal?” Howell asked.
I glanced down at the food on my desk, the result of a quick stop at Wawa- a meatball hoagie, a bag of carrot sticks and a packet of Cheetos. “What?”
“ ‘Orange’ is not a valid food category, Jones,” my partner said, mildly, digging into his own Italian hoagie and plain potato chips.
“There’s a PSA that tells me to ‘eat my colors’, sir,” I said. “Besides, how else am I supposed to keep my hair this lovely vibrant copper?”
Howell didn’t answer, but his expression looked suspiciously amused.
