Sitting up, she clicked on the bedside light. “What’s on your mind?”
“I thought I understood, working for the military. I’ve trained. I’ve been in fights off-world before. I’ve shot at people, but…”
“Today’s the first time you really saw what happens to the people you shoot.”
Levi sighed. “Yeah.”
“We both know there’s really nothing for it except time,” Gryff said slowly.
“I know.”
She lifted the covers. “Try to get some sleep.”
“Thanks.”
