It's great to self-soothe and distract - and I admire you for working so hard to keep a positive and persevering attitude - but it's OK to rant sometimes, too. Anger is a normal, healthy, valid feeling that you deserve to express before it builds to a fever pitch inside you.

A great tool my old counselor gave me was to go into my room alone, set a timer for like 15-20 minutes and spend that time expressing my anger loudly and safely. During that time, I had free rein to yell, scream, cuss, cry, make a scene, punch and kick anything that wouldn't be hurt or hurt me in the process, tear things up that I was going to throw out anyway... And then when the timer went off, it was time to calm myself down (or get help calming down, if I needed it). Truth? Usually I was so exhausted by the end of 15-20 minutes of "planned meltdown" that I couldn't be anything but calm afterward.
