Soulmates...

Apr 14, 2010 01:56

I've been thinking a lot about what I want out of life...  Not my ambitions of wealth or success, but what I truly want.

Aristophanes once said that human beings used to have four arms, four legs, and two faces, and that one day, Zeus, fearful of the power they possessed, sent thunderbolts to rain down on the earth, splitting each and every human ( Read more... )

Nothing, Shino. I was only sharing my thoughts.

That's a really interesting story. But I dunno. I guess I like to think that I'm already whole on my own and that I don't need anyone to complete me. But I guess it would be nice to find someone that compliments me.

^_^ That is also a nice way of thinking. I think when two people compliment each other the relationship is much more fulfilling than two people who fight just to tolerate one another.

I like to think so. And that way if it just doesn't work it's not like you lost a part of yourself or anything. You're just as strong or stronger for having known them.

That's true... I guess for some people it's harder to handle when a relationship doesn't work out.

((Kakashi speaking)) I like the idea of having a soulmate out there somewhere. Love is a wonderful thing - if you have found the right person to share it with of course.

I read Plato's Symposium just for that story alone. The idea of having a soulmate is romantic. Some may not believe in it, but I myself think the idea of having someone out there meant just for me specifically is beautiful.

But, I wonder... is it possible for one to be split into thirds? Can there be two soulmates out there for one person? It's an interesting question.

^_^ I'm glad that someone agrees with me.

I think that with matters of love, anything is possible.

I think us children of the Hyuuga clan have more whimsical opinions about what love constitutes. And personally, I don't see anything wrong with that. It is a shame that your... significant other does not seem to respect your opinion or views...

You can do better.

I don't believe I've ever thought of our family in a way that would even include the term "whimsical", but I suppose you're right. And I'm not sure if he'd be considered a significant other any longer.
