To Re'Beta or not to Re'Beta

*sighs* I'm kind of upset because I spent all this time on Sunday uploading fics to Walking the Plank just to have them all rejected because of the amount of grammatical errors. I know I suck at grammar stuff, I'll be the first to admit it (just read my journal), but all of my fics were beta read! Most of them by my darling Jean who is no longer

It's hard because it's personal to you...your fics and your beta, but we're not doing it to be mean or anything. D: I'm sorry that it's upsetting to you.

I understand the policy. That doesn't bother me.

What bothers me is that my fics are really in that bad of shape. I just don't know if worth fixing them. If they were new fics I'd be all for getting them prefect, but some of these fics date back to 2003 or earlier and really I'm not the same writer I was then.

Is anyone? I know my work's changed. How about...one...send me one, and I'll get it up to code, as it were, and if you think it's too much of a bother, then don't worry about the rest?

Toss 'em to a new beta. Grammar beta-ing is the easiest because there are nice, neat, set rules. Not a lot of back and forth discussion required.

You know I have actually been thinking a lot about this since I posted. Reddwarfer has been kind enough to look over a couple of them, but you know I really don't want to change a few them. I was going to write a post to this effect once I had time, but one of them is my first ever fanfic and it was written 6 years ago. It is horrible! It makes me cringe its so bad, but thats what I love about it. How can I go back and change it now?

Id fix grammar and nothing else. I still cringe over my early fics, but sometimes you just have to move on.
