*hugs* I can't say that I'm terribly surprised. I suspect now - and my dad agreed - that this was their way of weeding out all the extras from the holiday season - some places will 'test' you by moving you to a completely different area and seeing how you do; if you can hack it, they might keep you, but if not, it gives them the perfect reason to get rid of you (i.e., "we want to fire this person but need a legal excuse to do so so we don't get our asses sued").
It's just inconvenient for me, is all. (Not to mention something of a blow to the self-esteem. I've kinda given up on the idea that I'll ever achieve anything higher than retail wage slave in life. :p )
I am so sorry it worked out this way. It really does seem that they could have found another position for you. Hopefully they will call you back in about 3 weeks to offer you a cashier position. This really sucks big time. **HUGS**
This is how fucked up big corporations are. They can't do anything simple or easy; they gotta make a bunch of bullshit out of it to do something that could just as easily be resolved in like five minutes - i.e., 'ok, so X doesn't work out, you can just go back to Y and we'll adjust your pay scale and all.' Nooo, we have to "process" paperwork for three fucking weeks. WTF do they do with it, pass it around for every single person to read and then write a frickin' book report on it? Sheesh.
Though as I pointed out to my dad earlier (and he agrees), I can't say that I'm terribly surprised this ended badly.
