Oh, we have hideous cabinets. These things just make me shudder when I think about them. I think the worst part of it all though, is we just didn't have space to put anything! We're in the middle of a similar dilemma with our kitchen. We need new flooring. But then if you rip up the floor and do it the right way, you should remove the countertops and cabinets, which likely won't survive said demolition, which leads to replacement, which leads to a lot more $$. Your post is inspiring me to look for a thriftier solution, and I can't wait to see how yours comes out!
