I was referred to this group by student_travel.

I know that this isn't really the most ideal place to post this, but
since it's vaguely-related and I'm a member, I'd figured that I would
ask...

I know how awful this question can be, considering that I myself am not too proud of my unideal decisions... but:

Well, "my sources" tell me that it works pretty dang well in Central and Eastern Europe. I mean, nobody is thrilled to hire people without a BA, but you can probably subsist in central europe. Are you a guy or a girl? There's more work on the DL for women than men in some countries, like babysitting or cleaning or waitressing and being paid... but if you have or get TEFL certification, the system or lack there of (i.e. doing a tourist visa run every three months) works like a charm.

But hey, that's just what my sources tell me... ;)

I know from reading through some things on Spain, and my stepdaughter, who is an EU national living there, that people aren't too kind to rent flats out unless you have GREAT references. It is also extremely hard to get medical care without documentation unless you want to pay for it. Forget the bank account! Maybe eastern Europe is better, but I hardly imagine Finland is my idea of 'eastern' Europe. Unemployment is pretty bad, especially in Spain BTW.

a) I didn't say "Eastern Europe", I said that I'd "go east".
b) Unemployment is irrelevant. I've gotten a job in 2 weeks in the UK when some British citizens have been unemployed for over a year.

Good luck with this... I was hoping you'd get more comments because I am interested in information of this sort as well. Best of luck though!

I don't think Poland is the brightest idea, but could you be more specific and say what kind of a job you are looking for?
