Caprimulgids etc

But first, bonus invertebrate: the sea scorpion Eurypterus, terror of the Silurian!

I felt kind of bad for doing an anomalocaris but not one of these guys, which maxed out at over six feet in length. Oddly, sea spiders have nothing to do with actual spiders, but sea scorpions are (or were) actual chelicerates. Drawn in the lab whilst waiting for a sequencing reaction cleanup to spin down.

Oarfish, you are in excess of 50 feet long, but I'm not so happy with you. Someone needs to learn how to use masking fluid. (hint: it is me)

Lastly, a nightjar/whippoorwill/goatsucker, a charming bird with an embarrassing name (tho less so than the booby, great tit, bustard, or laughing jackass).

I couldn't figure out why I like these guys so much, but it occurs to me that I just like animals that naturally look freaked out all the time (e.g., the mouse opossum). Also, whiskers.
