Since my feet have been in constant pain for the past week or so, I figured it was really time to get the new shoes I should have gotten weeks ago

I tried to convince Hex61 that I would see it again! Especially in 3D! I know I missed a lot because it was hard to focus on the background stuff while things are flying out at you :D I felt like such a little kid at the movies with my Ma wearing "glasses" heehee. I think I'll make it out tonight and possibly next weekend too!
I know I'm horrible at party hopping... so when I know people will be somewhere else first, I end up being pleasantly surprised if they make it out anywhere else. :)
Sounds like you had fun, so all is well.
Next week, our paths will cross. (Barring alien invasion or something.) ;)
I have a ton of comics from the 50's, 60's and 70's....unfortunately theyre probably not in the best shape now...theyre in plastic in the back of the closet...i know for sure i have a silver surfer one that was worth a bit....my brother gave them all to me...i should go through them...i had forgotten about them until you mentioned comics.....i had ALL the rolling stones from the 70's as well, but got rid of them....
The stuff from the 50s and (mostly) 60s that I was bagging today are what I grew up on. They're my father's and consist mostly of old DC comics. There's a handful of other brands--some Archie a couple of Marvel and then some from companies that I don't think even exist any more.
Most of them are falling apart something fierce. I've got bunches without covers... and a couple that are just covers. Lots of crumbling edges and yellowed paper. I had to vacuum after bagging what I could.
The Docs made in Britain are available here: http://www.vixensandangels.com Getting long-lasting uppers and re-soling them makes more sense financially - resoling with Vibram soles can be as little as $35. I paid $150 for a pair of Vegetarian Shoes (also made in the UK) years ago and they are not even close to needing any sort of repair. Buying cheaper boots would have cost me at least $300 by now.

I really am looking forward to seeing Coraline... and, for once, the 3D is an actual draw and not just a cheesy gimmick. At least for me.
