Movie Night = Success!

Aug 13, 2006 23:35

Despite a few bumps in the road, the movie night was a totally success. Everyone seems to have a had a good time (I know I did), movies were watched, pizza was eaten, no one died.

So, I was a little late. I keep forgetting that some people actually do show up on time in my circle of friends. When pakgwei showed up, I was still out picking up beverages. ( Read more... )

i watched V for the first time last week & throughly enjoyed it, though it's one of those movies you need to see more than once. there's a lot of dialogue & i feel like i missed some parts.

let me know the next time you have a movie night! i was busy this weekend.

The dialogue is what makes it just as good (if not better) the second time around.

Next movie night won't be until late September at the earliest. Perhaps I'll actual get an Evil Dead-a-Thon to happen this year. :)

Yay! Always fun.

Sorry you had to wait outside for a bit. At least it wasn't raining... or 10,000 degrees. :)

Next time I'll be on time for my own party.

No.

Really.

I mean it. ;)

Unrelated to your movie night (though I'm sorry I missed it), I was thinking about you this weekend. I got a bizarre thought about how small my world is, and thought I might like to discuss geneology with you - yours and mine. You don't have anywhere in your family tree one or two Vincents, a Marianne, a Cate, a Sheila? What with you being from NY and me having family with your last name... ya know, curious-like.

None of those names ring a bell, but there is an entire branch of the Conroy side of the family that was never part of the picture.

My grandfather on my father's side was married twice. One was before his marriage to the mother of my father and uncles. He had a kid or three with that first wife. When they divorced, it seems they completely cut ties.

My father didn't even know about it until a few years before my grandfather died.

So I've got some half-uncles and cousins out there that I know absolutely nothing about.

My world is just continually getting smaller, and since I was with all my family this weekend I got thinking about how some of my cousins have your last name, and are from NY... so....

Would be funny, though, wouldn't it?

Would be... and wouldn't be unheard of.

Many years ago, there was this girl who transferred into my school. She was quite cute and all the guys quickly developed a thing for her.

In passing conversation with the family, it turned out she was a cousin of some flavor who's family had been gone from the area for a bunch of years. Some digging through stacks of photos produced one of her and me together, years earlier. I had no memory of it.

Needless to say, I quickly nixed that nascent crush.

Otherwise, I would have had to move to West Virginia or up into the mountains or something. :)

Indeed it is. But I think I'm just going to enjoy it as a spectator sport for a while longer. :)

(Cheaper that way.) ;)
