"Don't aim at success - the more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. Don't aim at success

Constrast this with:

it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself.

Translation:

If you want to be happy, aim to dedicate yourself to a greater cause, or aim to surrender yourself to someone else. Because when you aim at stuff, you're bound to miss.

Hmpf.

Is THAT why I'm so happy? I aim with my teeth to dedicate myself to No One, and as I drastically miss, I end up with happiness.

Let's all be selfish fucks.

I feel that.

It's sorta like how when I was single long ago and everyone told me "you'll meet someone when you stop looking", and I thought it was bollocks until it proved itself true.
