It's definitely one of my favorite shows, though I am still a bit partial to my scifi shows. :)
It's definitely one of the top two medical shows I watch (in fact, it's one of the only two medical shows I watch now that I've finally given up on ER). There's good edge to the show, the writers take some pretty big chances, and the actors have the talent to pull it all off--Hugh Laurie, especially. The man is amazing. You'd never even know he's British.
ER is one of those shows that should have ended many seasons ago... like, at the latest, when Dr. Green died.
The reason people like House's character so much is because he does things we wish we could do. Or, rather, things we wish we could do without feeling guilty or really getting in trouble for. :)
My personal favorite line from the show was when Dr. Wilson told House the pain was all in his head because he had broken it off with his ex. House whacked him in the shin with his cane and said, "Oh! Look at that! You must miss Stacy, too."

I know I've never laughed so much watching any other medical show as I do with House. The way he doesn't care to offend... "Him-slash-Her" heehee
