in some ways, i think we have to sit back and watch the towers crumble. in others, we will be part of the crew that re-builds, if we survive.

change is imminent. its just a question of how soon? to what degree?
and where the hell do i hide until its over?

The fact that change is imminent isn't at question at all... I everyone with half a working brain (maybe less than half) is aware of that.

I just don't think most people out there realize how incredibly painful and disasterous that change may seem.

Maybe the more pointed question I'm getting at is "Should we bother trying to mitigate that pain and disaster?"

And I most definitely plan on surviving the fall... otherwise helping with the rebuilding is just that much more tricky. :)

to mitigate that pain and disaster?

I don't know. Is it (the pain and disaster) all necessary, and part of the greater plan, or is it something we actually have a hand in shaping? Thus, making less painful and disastrous?

Should we bother? What factors would prevent us or discourage us from doing so?

I feel the same way... just kicking back and watching, as is my lazy nature. :) Personally, I don't think the society is salvagable. Maybe parts of it, but not the whole. Strangely enough, I'm ok with that.
Let's just all kick back and watch the events that unfold and have a good time with it. Not much else we can do, right?

How can you salvage parts? Where are those parts? And how do you tell which ones aren't so interconnected with the "broken" parts?

If things go real bad, it will be quite the exciting fireworks show, I'm sure. And plenty of fires to roast marshmallows over. :)

No, it's not wrong, as I said at your house, bring the Four Horsemen.

But should we actively bring them, just "accidentally" leave the door unlocked so they can wander on in, or try to tell people they should probably get outta the way cuz' there's these big nasty horses comming through?

I'll be standing there with a handful of Oats for the pretty horses :-) As far as your other question, looks like we don't need to do anything, cause it'll happen on it's own with today's society.

have been reading and mulling this over for a month or so... was one of the focuses (focii?) of this week's Samhain observance...
