Too Hip For Me

My friend l0qii and his girlfriend came down from Connecticut for the weekend. Even better, a couple other friends of mine who've been traveling a lot were actually in town, too. This gave me the rare opportunity to get together with a bunch of people I haven't had a chance to spend time with in a while ( Read more... )

Even though you didn't quite fit in, you have the experience. Know what I mean? And I think it is so kewl that you go to different places. It sounds like something I would do if I was able to.

I've discovered over the years that I don't quite fit in anywhere. At least not without really trying hard.

And, really, most of the time it's just not worth the effort. :)

I try to make it a point to go out to new places, with new people, when the chance comes up. I figure the Universe works in mysterious ways and you never know when (or where, or with who) something important is going to happen.

That's one of the things I love about the Interent--it lets me be more places with more people at the once.

Like being here. On LJ. With all the people that've wandered into my digital life.

i went once on a wednesday or thursday night to meet my date... it was the 2nd date with the cute cap hill lawyer...

way too crowded, stuffy, and clichey...

don't know that i'll go back, but I guess I won't not go back.
but yeah... I'll remember to wear my nicest work clothes next time I go... :P

I don't think I'll go back, either. At least not unless there's some real good reason.

Of course, if I ever end up in a more high-powered circle of people, I can see it being very beneficial to show up at the trendy places...

Thing is, I don't know how long I could take myself seriously while I was actually working to fit in at a place like the 18th Street Lounge. It's just so not me. :)
