Today has been pretty darn awesome, even with the afore mentioned horrible 80s horror (which, really, is fun in and of itself).

happybluebunny and I ended up doing dinner at Loreal Plaza. Then it was off to the DC Arts Center (just another couple of blocks up 18th) to see The Importance of Being Earnest. As usual, The Rudes do not disappoint.

The performance was spectacular. Great use of classic Hollywood-style musical cues. And some truly top-notch over the top characters to offset the much more down to earth ones. (And blimpcaptain, I expect to see the picture attached to this post as an icon ASAP.)

Go. See. This. Show.

After the show and quick meet and greet with the cast, we sauntered back down 18th to hit Spellbound.

That turned out to be a much more fantastic night that usual. For numerous reasons, not the least of which was the (almost) full slate of people I know showing up, complete with some unexpected appearances.

And just to totally top things off, it became abundantly clear that one of those people I thought was maybe kinda sorta flirting with me on the dance floor last week most certainly was. How do I know? Because she was doing it again this week... and I watched her shrug off at least one other guy.

On my way out, I introduced myself. Her name's Anya. I was planning on talking more with her next week (since, really, my brain is kind of fried from all the fun of the day). You know, actually exchanging contact information and whatnot.

Now, upon checking my calendar, it appears I won't be back at Spellbound until 8 March. :(

Well, I guess that's plenty of time to decide if I want to do the whole "dating" thing again...

Anyway... there may be a trip to the Zoo on Sunday. Or happybluebunny and I may just stay in and hang out. As some of you undoubtedly noticed when you met her tonight, she's pretty awesome. I'm exceptionally lucky to get this chance to get to know her better.

Once again, it is proved that my friends rock. :)
