mmmm... Sunday....

Well, last night was certainly a different experience.

In a good way.

Hit Chiaroscuro a little later than I planned... I figured the travel time on the metro wrong, mainly because I've never actually done the red to green line switch before.

Oh, yeah... and I locked my keys in the car when I parked it at Shady Grove. Thank the gods for Swiss army knives and an intimate knowledge of the weaknesses of my car. It still wasted about 20 minutes (had to be careful so no one saw me breaking into my own car... that would have been... embarrassing).

The club is pretty nice. Too bad it's taken me this long to get out there! I mean, I'm no real Goth or anything, but the place is pretty spiffy and the staff seems cool. The crowd was good, too... the energy of the place is almost what I'd want my dance club to have (and yes, I do have plans for a massive dance club that I plan on running up in Rochester, NY... if anyone has an extra $1 million laying around and wants to invest, let me know... $500,000 would be a good start).

The two bands, Ego Likeness and Thou Shalt Not, rocked. And Voltaire was a riot, as always. I've seen him once or twice at Dragon*Con and it was great to see him in a smaller venue for a change.

I even stuck around to dance a bit with the people from work after Voltaire's set. Now if only I had really been familiar enough with the train schedule to not leave early... that was the kind of place I'd normally close down with the right people. And these seemed to be the right people.

I do believe I'm going to like working at my office.

So the rest of today is dedicated to apartment hunting, shopping for food and filling out the paperwork I need to have for tomorrow when I start my first full day as a full employee.

And then tomorrow night, poetry in another place I've never been with more people I've never actually met. (And this time, I will meet people!)
