oh, I adore baby!Castiel with all his toys. then he learns to fly & chases Gabriel. aww.
the ending is just lovely, with Castiel reassuring Gabriel after humanity has taken its toll, after the fire ring/trap. I love how he still has the little lion too.

I can't think of the Metatron as anything other than from 'Good Omens'. oh dear.

I had to eventually come back to the fire ring, it was just too awesome an image. The lion! Of course Gabriel still had it, and I think that Michael was secretly totally smug that he made Castiel's favorite toy.

Aggh! I haven't read Good Omens yet! I keep telling myself I'm going to. In my other writings the Metatron is an androgynous foul-mouthed London punk with a mohawk and a crapton of tattoos. XD

This is so adorable! Gabe raising Cas and teaching him everything and then getting sad when Cas no longer needs him. *wibbles* Adorable and sad and perfect.
