I always thought it was somewhat unfair with the double standards on hotness of two people of the same gender. That said, I haven't seen anything that would suggest things have changed, but that doesn't mean it's not happening.

It is a double standard! Like the idea that women don't objectify men. Sure. Get a bunch of fangirls in the same room!

Hmm. I sometimes feel like I'm the exception - but I just don't go for bi- or gay men in fandom. It just doesn't attract me. I don't mind it in principle at all, and it's fine if it's about characters I'm not that invested in. But even though it can be a totally plausible twist on a fave character, I may stop reading. Which is weird, considering I loved Jack/Ianto in Torchwood.
