So, one day while doing nothing I decided to take a trip down memory lane and do some re-reading. I told myself I'd do it before but now I'm actually doing it. I chose Myrna's series to read over because I feel like having my heart broken

Myrna is awesome and I'm not sure I have read anything of Randall's.

The thing about Myrna's fic is although it's AU I find it so real, especially the cancer story. You see Ethan in a whole other light, but you also get to explore the world through the eyes of four different characters. To this date I find the emotions in her stories one of the most real reactions.

You haven't read any of Randall's! Well, then you must. The Seven Stages of Gus is an absolute fandom must read. Warning: it'll break you.

what kind of break me? There was an angsty gus fic I read one that had me in tears..I don't know how much I can handle!

This really isn't angsty in any way. It's more really pretty brilliant. I mean, it's exactly what it says. You just need to give it a try first and see for yourself.

I did enjoy it.:) I have admittedly never read all of Myrna's series. Not because I didn't like it, some scenes I read I don't think I'll ever forget, but it tends to be...emotionally exhausting. Which is probably why I usually avoid Randall's work. I guess I'm kind of a coward.:)

I think you're right. It really is emotionally exhausting but that's kind of the way that I like it! lol you're certainly right about Randall's work but there's also the fun ones! There's his Thanksgiving story and Christmas story. Just gotta pick the ones that aren't damaging, heh.

I understand what you mean. I got that reading it too and it was definitely draining. But I think she partially explains it in a line during Justin's version. I wish I could remember what the quote was but I remember the gist was that they do have that completely all consuming relationship that's unique to them. I accept that as her version of who she thinks Brian and Justin are and I didn't feel like she compromised the love and respect that they had for one another.

Yes, that is the one. Oh man, anyone who made it through that story should get a medal, lol. I mean it should come with a warning. I don't remember if it does. I think that you should give his fic a try especially this last one. He definitely has his moments. There's a Christmas fic that he has on his site and a great Thanksgiving story. One of my favorites as I recommended above is The Seven Stages of Gus. I think that that's one that everyone should read if you like the fic.
