Oh, Randy, how can you be old?

Sorry about your computer. azureopal had a big problem with the Apple she bought about a week ago, too.

I'm going to be looking into laptops soon - I like my Dell. Then, I like PCs. But I hear Apples are great, esp. if one needs a lot of graphic work.

Today, in honor of Randy, we are reviving a classic icon. Yeah Randy! No you are NOT Justin! Now if only you'd stop confusing me by going to QAF conventions!

OTOH, I miss Paris. I haven't been for almost 3 years. That's way too long. Plus, apparently, the euro is WAY down. Sux for europe, but on the other hand, I could use a vacation soon.

He's aging. :X Never thought we'd see the day.

Thank you. Computer woes all around. And here I am on a desktop computer I bought at Costco 6 years ago. Other than the occasional system restarts, it hasn't given me too many problems. I just wish that Windows would work out their bugs so that I could get an HP.

I do highly recommend Apple for graphic work. Constantly saving is the key.

Woah, total classic icon! Doodles from way back in the day.

Sounds like you need to take a vacation to France! I hadn't known that the Euro was down. It does sound like a good time for a vacation. I wonder what air fare is like though.

WAY down, like from around $1.60 to $1.17 last week. Recession woes around the world.

I actually priced a trip to Paris the other week *whistles, not thinking about showing up for Paris!con, no not at all*, and the packages are pretty reasonable - I was looking at a three-nighter, and with r/t from NYC (Newark, probably), it came to about $1200 for a fairly decent hotel. Now I'm thinking Christmas, since there are some really good deals around then.

Wow. That's incredible! I had no idea. Yeah, really terrible for Europe but a slight advantage for those of us who deem it too expensive.

Hahaha I should've done the same! Last minute trip to Paris! Next time I'll just cave in and vacation during Randy-Stockbridge time on a whim. That definitely doesn't seem too bad at all for round trip and hotel. You should definitely look into a nice, relaxing and fun trip.

Time flies when you're off of a television show and a theatre artiste. XD

Okay that really sounds like a good deal. I'm not really sure how Apple's warranty works. They may as well give me a new computer since there are too many problems with the one I have. I don't want to start bringing it in every month. I'm just going to have to wait and see what they say this time around.

I've had apple woes recently too. My laptop (which is admittedly 3+ years old) has decided to shut down whenever I drop below %80 battery. It's fun too because unless I have my cord set up in precisely the right position and enough pressure in precisely the right place on the battery, it says that it's plugged in, but does not actively charge or even keep it's current battery level and just drops, then shuts down.

I took it to the apple store at least 4 weeks ago and they said they would order the parts then call me when they came in. I wait 3 weeks, don't hear from them, so I call them to see what the holdup is. Girl who answers the phone says a genius will call me back within 24 hrs. No one calls.

I get a message on my phone today from the store- some guy saying, "hi! I just wanted to follow up about repair to see how it went so we can get some feedback!" like as if the repair has already happened...

oof. I love apple but this blows.

oh also, if it's less than a year old or close to a year old it may still be under warranty (apple care) unless the problems are caused by something that you did (like drop it, but it doesn't sound like this is the case).

If you spent the extra bucks to get the extended warranty then it's def covered by apple care (I did and mine is even though it's 3+ years old! But it ends in march so I need to get on this repair...)

It wasn't under warranty the first time that I went to turn it in so he extended it. Then I bought the Apple Care so it's under that right now. Thank god that I bought it last week so I'd be soooooooo screwed.

Oh god. I know how you feel. I had that problem with my power adapter with my first Apple laptop. I had to move it a certain way to get it to work correctly. That was aggravating.

Now that you told me that story that totally worries me. I didn't have any problems with it last time but you just never know. I do love Apple and all of their products but admittedly, they have some of the worst hardware ever.

Oh Randy, Gale apparently keeps you young ;)

Aw, that sucks about the laptop. Usually I hear only good things about Apple, hopefully the manage to fix it for good this time.

Oh, yes indeed! Randy's taking some anti-aging juice that he's hoarding to himself. Clearly. :X

It really, really does. I absolutely love Apple. I have no problems with any of the programs or its capabilities but because it's broken down on me twice in the past two months, it's made me weary. I still heart it though. I heart it so much.
