x-posted to bus_riders

TITLE: Wooden Crutches
AUTHOR: amelia_kay
SERIES: Everwood
PAIRING: Bright/Ephram
WORDCOUNT: 900 words exactly
FOR: zaneetas who requested Bright running, or Harold/Andy interaction for her Everwood 2004 Ficathon challenge; I went with the former.
SUMMARY: Absence is sometimes unbearable. Only sometimes.

The day he realizes he maybe already has fallen in love, it doesn't fill him with anything like hope. It makes him kinda sick and panicky, and why didn't people ever write any fucking songs about *that*? )

After reading something so vivid and wonderfully stark as this, I start to wonder if my eyes were ever open before. Every character the words touch is nailed, down to their core and out through their bravado. I've always seen them; never before have I seen through them so clearly. A gorgeous piece of perfect characterization.

Thank you! That was a fabulous comment to receive in my inbox today. I'm so humbled by stories like Amelia's; I try, in my feedback, to give back the kind of feeling I received from reading. :)

Everything is in that last paragraph, all the feeling that the whole story was trying to convey so wonderfully summed up in a few sentences.
