Oh my goodness! Is the esteemed lady a) the person with whom you've been friends for the longest time, or b) literally the oldest person you're friends with?
My most elderly friend passed away a couple years ago (well, I guess there must be a new one to take her place, statistics being what they are, but she stood out). But the birthday girl and I were first year roommates at the University of California back in nineteen-mumblety-mumble. During the Jimmy Carter administration, let's just say. We are, indeed, old. And happy to be here and still be friends!
And I'm now exactly three times the age of Miss M.! For some reason, this ratio delights me and Miss M.'s BFF (although Miss M. herself finds it uninteresting). But . . . a three to one ratio between my years and hers!
