Holidays are now unavoidable. It's less than a week until Thanksgiving. In my neighborhood, this means utter madness, since I live two blocks away from the start of the Macy's Parade. On Wednesday, everything will shut down as they lay out all the big balloons on the streets around the Museum of Natural History. The crowds will make most movement

The rats will love that! LOL. Seriously it looks pretty but the one time my building did something like that with the landscaping all the rats took to burrowing under it for the winter. Never again!

Being directly across the street from the park, there are probably plenty of critters in that garden all the time anyway. They normally do have some sort of mulch this time of year, but I've just never seen it so snazzy. But this coming week is the shining moment of the year when our neighborhood is watched by millions of TV viewers, so they may as well spiff it up, even if it can't endure.
