Am I first on my flist with Geek Love?

Fabulous data flow diagram of geek life in today's NY Times.

Accompanies an article memorializng Gary Gygax, the recently deceased creator of Dungeons and Dragons.

I'm a little confused by the flow chart's apparently masculine POV while including the element "Would totally marry Harry Potter." Still, not bad for America's Newspaper of Record.

How. Fucking. Awesome.

Even in contemplating marriage, still refers to betrothed by full first and last name

In full geekiness, I was reading this over the shoulder of a woman on the bus this morning. She sniffed and moved to another seat. The weirdness, it burns!

The author of the article is a man in his forties or fifties. First-wave geeks had very little anime. Plus, you know, guys. But I bet you could actually get him going on Speed Racer.

Yes to Neuromancer and Harry Potter, but I have no interest in any sort of role playing where one remains fully clothed the entire time.* Does this undermine my nerd cred?

*Erm, HP cosplay excepted...

Plus, I get extra points for the Visual Basic book I'm editing right now, no?
