I have finally done a massive update to my Flickr page, including photos from my recent trip to New Hampshire and going back to all my holiday photos, including tofty! ( This way to the pix. )
Great holiday photos! I especially love the Victorian sofa tissue cover. Why don't I have one of my own?
Tofty and Jefferson make a stunning couple, even though Jefferson's expression looks as though he's about to tell her a dirty joke.
Carbonated mouthwash! Just what I feared! Maybe they just need to bring back mint mineral water. A Sante used to make one back in the 80's. If they named it Djibouti, so much the better.
That's how they got to be the founding fathers, you know. There have always been stories about Jefferson, of course, but just imagine Ben Franklin. He was supposed to be the real dirty old man of the bunch.
Hahahaha, how strange that I should tell you about my desire for mint soda when you have actually tasted it! It's good to know that I was right in my supposition that mint soda would taste like mouthwash. :D:D:D
if you want i will make you sekanjibim one of these days, if you haven't had it, which is made with mint and sugar and vinegar and is one of the finest hot weather/summer drinks ever invented.
No CNN. My other tourist-y thing was the High Museum where we saw an exhibit of antiquities from the Louvre and spent a lot of time wondering how they managed to move the 20-foot high statue of Napoleon that was made out of lead.
The World of Coca-Cola was quite fascinating. Apparently it's all been redone in the last few years. In same ways the most amazing part was that they got me to spend $15 for three hours inside a huge advertisement. Everything was so perfectly done, though. Like Disney, it's in the details. I don't quite see buying all that merchandise in the gift shop, although I did pay $3 to shrink wrap a Happy Birthday message onto a small glass bottle of Coke for Leit. That is what you'd pay for a Hallmark card, though, and he is a big Coke fan, so I considered it a wash.
Leit's place is actually a ways outside the city, so we spent several days just hanging out in the nearby burbs. He gave me a good driving tour, though, and we ate a lot of very good food. For his birthday dinner we went to a brew pub called 5 Seasons
