I'm staggered by your pioneering spirit. Braising a turkey! That is the coolest "make do with what tools you have" story I've heard yet, and I collect those.

I'm also seething with envy over your getting to meet Tofty. SEETHING. I may never make a gourmet Christmas dinner over a bunsen burner, but I WILL meet that girl someday. Any and all pictures commemorating any of your Christmas adventures are most anxiously awaited!

It was a really nice trip, and full of other nice meals that did not involve turkey. Meeting Tofty was a total highlight -- she is as charming and witty in person as she is online. I highly recommend a visit with her!

Jesus Christ the Apple Tree is hands down my favorite piece of music anywhere. I have been singing it to my children as a lullaby every night this week. I am so crazy for it that the choir sang it for the Rasa wedding, lo these many years ago.

You will be in town until when, now?

We went back to St. Philip's on Sunday, and they re-ran the Lessons and Carols service at the front end of the Eucharist, so we got another big dose of nice Christmas music.

I'm back in New York after a whirlwind of travel, but I know I'll be back in Atlanta for more visits. Let's plan a get-together next time.
