Faces are the bane of my drawing exsistance LOL. I can do bodies fairly well if I practice but heads and faces just always end up looking wrong to me. Its the whole reason actually I never really go into drawing. Kind of hard to get into it when you know there is one spot you just can't Reach.
Yeah they are tough. Well, if it makes you feel any better most people have a few things that are just hard for them to draw correctly. Mine use to be guy bodies. My dudes use to look like girls for the most part or just awkward, which was just as bad in my mind.
The best thing to do is to seriously consider and draw the things that give you trouble. It might help on faces to draw some guide lines and look at guides for facial construction. The eyes tend to be half way on the head and the nose half way from the eyes to the chin and the mouth half way between the nose and the chin. Most book on drawing people will cover construction of the head and that can help a lot. Even for styles that don't look realistic learning the underlining structure can be a real help. Hell, I need more of that for my own stuff.
Heh, thanks. I should go back to picking random people out of teen magazines for warm up pictures. It makes me feel better about drawing to get one thing done and out of the way.
