Movie: Get Smart

Non-spoilery comments: I *loved* this TV show when I was about twelve (it was on in reruns) and I enjoyed the movie immensely. I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in AGES. Lots of nice references to the series, too.

Did you notice the name of the airlines? It was Don Adams' real last name. Lots of little inside jokes around.

Yes, I enjoyed the movie as well. Much better than it had a right to be.

I credit the casting.

Your turn now. You've completely sold me on this movie! Michael Dunn! I loved that man.

This is gonna be so cool.

I haven't seen the movie, but it's good that it has a favorable review from you!

It seems a little problematic that I don't like Steve Carell as an actor (though look-wise he seems the perfect choice). But in-jokes are awesome! Plus which, Hymie is one of the best characters from the original series in my opinion; how big a part did he have in the movie?

Another yay for their keeping some of the original cast! That's really cool!

EDIT: I was thinking of who would work as Hymie, and could only come up with Patrick Warburton. Then I looked on IMDb and saw that's who it was. So I agree with you there; perfect casting.

I always loved Hymie! He has a small role, I'm afraid, and it's supposed to be a surprise, which is why I tucked him under a spoiler cut - I hope it didn't ruin the movie for you! But Patrick Warburton just has the perfect voice and presence to make an impression even in that short scene.
