Today, there were Women's Marches all over the world. I couldn't make it to the one nearest to us, in Amsterdam. But I wanted to participate, at least in spirit. So, here are pictures of the event from all over the world in countries outside the USA. It's so encouraging to see the huge crowds that marched for a world of hope, decency and solidarity ( Read more... )

Thank you dear for these images, it is quite heartening to know our country has global support as Trump begins his presidency. I've been watching it all day and it really lifted my spirits. *hugs you fiercely*

I've now seen the pictures of the US marches and it was really overwhelming. I hope this grassroots movement will be effective, or at least help to limit the damage.

What a wonderful post. I wish there was a way to make Trump see it. He's all about denial. He'd try to figure out some way to lie and say these were all SUPPORTERS. He lies about EVERYTHING. Here he was on day two as President and all he could talk about was how the media lied about the small size of the crowd at his inauguration. He refused to believe that 2-1/2 times as many people were in Washington, DC today as were at his inauguration.

The man is totally crazy...a narcissistic, man-child with no concept whatsoever of what it means to be a President and actually govern instead of nursing his ego and thin skin. It's absolutely shameful.

I watched the marches/protests all day on TV. I can only hope and pray that he does something to get himself impeached.

As you say, the man it totally crazy. Everything I read is a fresh outrage. How to get rid of him? Is the country headed for a dictatorship? I have no idea how strong the US constitution is in practice.

I don't think the US will turn into a dictatorship, but we're very likely going to end up isolationists. Just today Trump starting canceling alliances and he wants to pull the US out of the United Nations!!!

The US Constitution is strong, but politicians are always "interpreting" it THEIR way. Trump could be impeached already for violations to the Constitution, but none of the Republicans in Congress have the guts to do it. However, the Democrats certainly would if they ruled Congress instead of the Republicans.

It cheered me up a lot, just looking at all those crowds. They were far, far larger than I had expected.
