not only is that such a beautiful poem (and so lovely a bookend for "Sit Beside the Fire"), but it's astounding that he gave her the copyright. (well, perhaps not SO astounding, considering her devotion to him, but it was a mighty gift, nonetheless!)
(on one of our Reading Days in LA, read this as the close. It really is lovely. you might enjoy, if you don't have it already, the little book of it, with illos by Baynes)
It really is a perfect bookend for "Sit Beside the Fire". The only book with Tolkien poems illustrated by Pauline Baynes that I have is a Dutch translation by Max Schuchart: "De Avonturen van Tom Bombadil". I bought it before I grew comfortable reading English. It doesn't have Bilbo's Last Song.
