HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYUTO!
For my favourite little junior, here is a pimp post!
dedicated to said boy!
WARNING: This pimp post may contain traces of obsession, myuto/juri/taiga bias, and slight shintaro bashing (I managed to crop most of it out tho :D). It's also kind of image heavy. Screencaps are completely shitty quality.
When I first told my friends "I like Morita Myuto!" and showed them a picture, I was faced with the question "Why?". It would be a natural reaction, because he's not as tiny-cute as Otsuka Yuya, and not as big as Shintaro, and not as loud as Tanaka Juri. Most of the time, he backdances, or front dances, or both, but doesn't get to sing or talk often. The agency seems to pimp him on and off, but nowadays, he's usually somewhere to the side or at the front line of backdancers. Because of this, it appears to me that in the english fandom, not many people know about him. Therefore, to celebrate this wonderful boy's birthday, I will convert you into his fan. Just remember, he's mine.

No Really, Who Is He?
Simple facts are the best way to start a pimp post. So here's a very vague introduction of his history at johnnys, excluding a lot of probable details from 2005-2007, because I only became his fan last year.
He joined somewhere towards the end of 2005, a tiny tiny junior of ten years. At this age, he appeared on the junior ni Q in december, and told everyone that he wants raw horse sashimi for his christmas present. The whole time he's up there, he's clutching his shirt, awww <3 He even drew a picture on his card :)
In 2006, he was one of the juniors who thought Nakamaru was a lovable idiot. He looks all messy and tired, but they all do. You can also catch a glimpse of Uekusa in this particular segment. I didn't catch him doing much in 2006, but that's mainly because I have very few 2006 episodes.
In 2007, he appeared on the Junior ni Q section again, asking Itou-kun why he had big eyes. Myuto has a thing for big eyes, but there will be more on that later. He could be seen in the background during Tackey's interview thing too, but as with most of the other lesser known juniors, he didn't actually get to say anything. That year, he was one of the other tiny backdancers for Hey! Say! 7 and Hey! Say! JUMP.
Personally, I think that 2008 saw him rise in popularity, and from february onwards, there was more effort put into pimping him. First, he got to appear with the Kansai Juniors in their somewhat pointless mini drama as one of the guy's kid brother in the episode 'Birthday'. He was one of the main chibiko juniors for a bit, and was later placed with Shintaro-tachi when they sang Ahaha for the second time. Later, when they realized "Ohshit, this kid can really dance!", he was placed into Junior Boys (Now known as Mis Snow Man). He was in and out of the junior boys and shintaro-tachi throughout the year, getting to sing quite a lot, and even having his own little solo line when they sang Secret Agent Man. In November-December, he was placed into HipHopJUMP with Tanaka Juri, Hagiya Keigo, Camu Cade, and Luis Jesse. He also got to talk about what he liked to put in hotpot, and his memories of christmas.
Which brings us to 2009. This year started off pretty promising for him, and it seemed like the jimusho was going to pimp him together with Tanaka Juri, but instead, Hagiya Keigo took his spot, and he was back to being a backdancer by around april/may. I haven't seen much of him on Shounen Club since then, but when I do, he's always being blocked by someone :/ He was one of the backdancers in the NYC video too. Green in the first line, on the left. Recently, he's started growing a lot. At the beginning of HHJ, he was roughly the same height as Juri, but is now nearly as tall as Hagiya (Who is like, as tall as a thirteen-year-old can get)
What Makes Him Different?!
This boy can dance. He can sing. He has no famous sibling or parent and is not excessively tiny and endearing, but he made it to the front anyhow, which is more than what I can say for a lot of the more popular, current, younger juniors.
He has a thing for big eyes. He asked Itou-kun about his eyes once, and seems to make his eyes as big as possible when he's in photoshoots. Have proof. Yeah, he's not the most photogenic of juniors, but I love him all the same, and you will too :D Also, he has a weird addiction to parsley. He loves Taiga partially because Taiga gave some to him. He constantly brings up his love for it in articles. This year, in an attempt to be more adult-like, he started drinking coffee when he went out with his friends. It should be noted that he always tries to seem older than he is. He admits though, that he prefers juice.
What About Pairings?!
First, we have the original Myuto x Onodera Ikki. The joined around the same time, and danced together at a K8 concert early on. People wouldn't see them together much unless they read some of the older magazines though.
Then Myuto x Taiga. They became friends when Myuto taught Taiga dance steps when he was confused. Taiga also gives him Parsley. He's mentioned Taiga as being his closest buddy within the juniors.
With the creation of HipHopJUMP came the start of Myuto x Juri. Face it, they go well together! They call each other by first names, like to team up to bully Camu, and do skits that make no sense to the english-speaking fans. The two of them are the only ones in HHJ who didn't have nicknames. They call themselves MoriTa (MORIta + TAnaka)
The most recent pairing with this boy is Myuto x Kishi. Myuto thinks of Kishi as the best rival, and has started mentioning him quite frequently. Kishi is a bit older than him, so he also admires the fact that Kishi is more of an adult.
Can you tell which is my favourite pairing?
Hmmm, I Think I Like This Boy
Well, you should! He's been groupless, and in several groups. I'll remind you.
First there was groupless..
Then there was Shintaro-tachi...
Junior Boys...
And finally HipHopJUMP.
And that, kiddies, concludes part 1 of my pimp post. The rest will consist of more pictures, links to past translations, and clips. Today is exactly one year since I became his fan, which also means
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYUTO!
