Lovely Weekend

Mar 31, 2008 12:43

oh man I loveeeed Lars and the Real Girl-- I'm glad you did too!

I'm so jealous of how well you've settled in in a foreign place. I wish I could have the mind to do the same, but I wanted to come home so badly by the end of my half-year stay in Denmark.

Lars and the Real Girl is such a terrific movie! I wish it had been promoted better, or advertised better. I think they made a mistake there. The poster I saw at my local tube station was only up for 2 weeks, which is nothing compared to some of these. Plus, it was only one poster in one station - I never saw it anywhere else! But I'm glad I did see it because otherwise I wouldn't have known it was out in the UK at all.

Living abroad has taken some getting used to, but I love it. I know I'm going to miss London terribly when my visa expires in October. But it's weird because I miss my family and friends like crazy, even though I'm in no rush to move back. Maybe that's part of growing up?

Yeah that's what I said-- the advertising for it was just terrible. They harped too much on the sex doll thing, which makes this just seem like another quirky, strange, inappropriate indie film instead of a touching look at a real mental illness.

Definitely a part of growing up. I bet you have done a lot of it over the past year. This is such an awesome thing that you have done. You will look back on this time with pride!
