hang in there! returning RAs are always slightly different from new ones - if it's the training that's dull, but you're looking forward to residents, then you'll be good. :-)
And random, but I actually brought you up in conversation during lunch today (not by name but by situation) -- one of my team members had to decide between taking over an open RA position (she was alternate) or her marine bio quarter. She took the RA job and did a summer field quarter (she's Ecology) through UCSB instead. I mentioned how, because of RA, you took off 2 quarters.
Plus, a little bitch action never hurt anyone. If anything, most of the RAs I've had to live with have been too tolerant and too nice with the bullshit the freshmen deal them each year.
We totally need to make a date to visit Mr. Lantos soon.
