Nope :( Makes me really paranoid now and I need to get my ass in gear and get an external HD for stuff I *really* care about!

is it totally fried? ive been able to get one or two starts out of hard drives after they "die," which is usually just long enough to get what i need out of them.

Yeah I think so. The IT guys took and I called them to see if they were able to save it and they said no luck. Poo
