Rough Creek is one of my favorite destinations.

Rough Creek has certain signature dishes that seem to always be on the menu -those are two of them.

I can't imagine anything milder than that section of the Brazos we were on this weekend. More like floating on a long narrow lake. We thought about your inflatable kayak. That would be perfect. I've never done the Guadalupe -yeah, I hear it can be pretty fast and rough in sections.

How does that work? Presumably you park up stream. Do you walk back? Does it sort of loop around? How do you get back to your car?

You actually park behind the rental place next to Hwy 67. They take you by van about 1/2 mile to the riverbank where you launch your tubes into the water and you float downstream. About a mile or so downstream is a sandy beach where you get out of the water and carry your tube to a clearing. Their shuttle van comes by every 20 minutes to pick you up and take you back to your car.
