She won!

Tarja Halonen won the second round, and she's going to continue as our president for the next six years. It was a close call; she got 51,8 % percent of the votes, as most right-wing and center party supporters united behind Niinistö. Still, the best.. person won.

We had the first round of our presidential election yesterday. I voted for Tarja Halonen who got the most votes of the eight candidates. Unfortunately her popularity was still slightly under 50 %, and we'll have to have a second round in two weeks between her and Sauli Niinistö.
