Bokutachi Chapter 24 [END]

It's overrrr~! ...I'm a little sad since it's been so long now since I finished the series myself I can't quite revel in this as I feel I should, hehehe. As to the ending... In my dreams, I admit the ending was a bit more grand and romantic (while at the same time...not being quite so...easy? ^_^; The idea Takashi could just suddenly change his mind like that is...for me sweet but not entirely satisfying), or at the least had a prettier kiss, hehehe. On the other hand, it's just sort of a quiet, modest little ending that doesn't offend any of my senses as some endings do, and I guess that's rather fitting for this manga. (Even if the omake of Takashi drooling over a girl--clearly intended as sort of AU crack though it may be--sort of leaves a confusing and slightly bad taste in my mouth, haha.)
But I'd much like to hear others' reactions if you're interested in giving them!

Now that our only active project is completed, I'd like to be able to introduce our next project, only... There isn't one. ^_^; I've apparently already put too much on my plate as it is with other groups/translating activities, and not (likely contrary to the opinion of many friends) actually quite stupid enough to add more to it just yet. I haven't even looked around for one much yet (besides of course still needing to get the new volume of Shinkuu Yuusetsu, and the fact I was thinking of testing out my volumes of Uchuu Kyoudai/Space Brothers with scanlation in mind. Only it's gotten a tad of publicity in the English-speaking mangaverse since I picked it up, and now I'm a little afraid someone else in the shadows could be considering it and I'd rather just stay away from anything else any other group could possibly want, hahaha.)
So, you know, group not dead or anything. Just...hibernating through the busy season. (...Half a year while I catch up with some stuff? Less? ...More? ^_^;)
Perhaps, then, if this ending has left a Bokutachi-shaped hole in your heart, I may suggest some other outside means of filling it with series that appeal to me in similar ways (mainly in my kink for slow-building romance and male/male friendships with a side of coming-of-age themes). In the service of you, clearly, and not at all because I am a complete pimp for the things I love and must whore them out at every mildly appropriate occasion, scanlating simply being a more socially-accepted way of doing this, but sometimes, well, I just can't control myself:
Kimi to Boku - One I've been meaning to read for a while but have still yet to. But it's about 4 guys in high school who've been friends since elementary school. About friendship and growing up. Does time jumps through their childhood. Slice-of-life-ey, though not BL nor (reviewers seem to say) particularly suggestive of it.
Off*Beat - About a bored, rather socially aloof high schooler who becomes oddly intrigued by his weird, even more standoffish new neighbor and decides to stalk investigate him. Also sort of with growing up themes, also sort of slice-of-life, fantastic quirky/geeky sense of humor, shounen-ai (though slow moving in that area, so since the last volume is on hiatus, we've yet to get the, er, payoff, exactly), and also sort of reminiscent of Bokutachi in it's attention and love for its setting (only insted of rural Japan, this time we're in Queens, New York! ^_^;) ...Though being in English, it of course has no scanlations...unless you speak French, hehe.) So buy it (Please? T_T) or check out your local library.
Ookiku Furikabutte - A slice-of-life seinen baseball series about a catcher and pitcher who must work closely together, yet both have...personality issues that make it difficult. No BL, but still gayer than all the above titles and Bokutachi combined, but frankly it reads an awful lot like a romance (a nice, slow, long, well-drawn out one), and so long as you're not set on seeing an in-cannon kiss just read the fanfic, it may as well be. Plus between the other characters you get to see endless different kinds of male/male friendships (or things like it ^_^;), new and old, that run the gamut of absolutely adorable completely understand one another to aaaannnngsttyyyy unresolved tensioooon.
(Though if anyone else has suggestions of similar titles (just for plain reading or for suggested scanlation projects) I am most definitely all ears. ^_____^)
