I have very dry, very thick hair, and have cycled through what seems like an endless array of shampoos/conditioners in the last few years looking for what works. If you struggle with dry hair, check out the below reviews/comments for what has worked and not worked for me.

o damn, i've got super thick hair and for most of my life it's been very dry and coarse. i've only recently managed to make it soft and kindof pretty, and that's by a) cutting it short, b) using head & shoulders' shampoo for dry and damaged hair, and c) by using tresemme's thingy for using in damp hair before blow drying.

ooh, I'll check out both of those latter! I like Tresemme but haven't used that particular product before. Same with H&S - it works wonders for dandruff but I've never used any of their other prodcuts.

I actually have read good things about this!! Will pick up a bottle as soon as I get back to the States in a week.

You should check out Aveda Dry Remedy - it absolutely blew my mind when I first started using it, my hair was so SOFT for the first time in my life. It's a little pricier - $14- but not as pricey as the $20+ salon products.

This is probably no news to you, but I've found the most effective thing for my once-always-super-dry hair has been leaving the conditioner in longer and then not washing it completely out. A good brand makes a big difference but that practice makes the biggest difference, for me.

Good to know! I have thick hair that isn't exactly dry, but it responds best to hair products for dry hair (idk, maybe because it has body). My favorite conditioner is by TIGI (http://www.amazon.com/TIGI-Absorbed-Vitamin-Conditioner-25-36/dp/B000FZZ4EW thisss) and it's lasted forever. I have weird scalp issues so I use Aveda and I love it. It's the only thing right now that doesn't make my head itch (I think I have an allergy).
