Reading your post was a lovely reminder of the series. I agree with everything you've said although I'd add that to me, in the film, Keira Knightley worked as Lizzy partly because she was so young and probably around the same age as Lizzy when she made the movie whereas Jennifer Ehle was obviously older. That's not to belittle Jennifer Ehle's performance though - I thought she made a wonderful Lizzy, and Colin Firth is just divine :)

I think Colin Firth/Darcy is the fulfillment of every woman's romantic dream and Gerard Butler/the Phantom is the fulfillment of every woman's passion-dream. Or nearly every woman. I don't claim much-just to be a spokesperson for most of the female sex.^_^

that is so true and while matthew did a wonderful job of being darcy colin is and will always be my vision of what and who darcy is suppose to be like. if he wasn't really colin firth and was really darcy, i'd would be stalking his every move through the newspaper... i don't think i'd ever be able to go up to him in person *swoons*

Agreed! Although I think I'd be so mad for him that I would go up to him. He's way too rare and perfect to let get away. ^_^
