Remember that
rash of fires in
Coatesville, PA? Fourteen in a month, something like fifty in a year? They arrested a sixth suspect for two of the most recent,
a fireman, who admits he was in the area but claims he was there to buy drugs. To tell you the truth I find that excuse kind of convincing.
So in the interest of follow-up I went looking a little deeper and found this: in 1911 Coatesville was the site of a very famous lynching in which four to five thousand people kidnapped an accused murderer (
who had previously attempted suicide) from the hospital
and burned him alive. Interesting.
In very related news, I got unstuck on my scrapbooking project, have twenty pages, and am increasingly delighted with how it's turning out. I even found a clipping or two over the weekend.
Easter was great--far superior to
2006--and I got to hang out with my parents and get my butt kicked at Battleship by my brother and even spend a few hours with Grandma, so even though I've still got kind of a sunrise-service hangover I had a great weekend. And enough ham to build a pig.
