About Time

Nov 07, 2007 11:39

Just as in the case of Oscar the Death Cat, the practical-minded authorities find themselves befuddled at a Halloween tomb robbery of a grave from 1821, going with a tired old Satanic ritual explanation instead of grasping the obvious cause: time travelers. Clearly, a woman from the future, stranded in the early 1800s, demanded to be buried with her effects and sent a letter on down through her (paradoxically-conceived) descendants until it reached the one person, here in 2007, who would understand what she was talking about and recover her anachronisms. I'm impressed; going in on Halloween is a nice smoke-screen to keep people from looking too closely at the temporal-distortion angle. Well done, chrononauts.

I might or might not post NaNo '07: Chapter 4 over lunch, so if I do, sorry about the double post.
