Am working on a project. Please reply below with your thoughts on Lost, vital themes and elements, what makes it good/bad/memorable/reprehensible, things you wish they did more, things you wish they would never do again, etc. All are welcome. May come back to haunt you.

If you're at all interested in the thoughts of someone who has only followed the show indirectly, I'd say that Lost took a few items and made them iconic - the plane, the numbers, the hatch - so much so that I know that these things exist on the show, having only watched a handful of episodes. It elevated these mysterious things to an almost sacred level; after they started explaining the mysteries behind these items, the show started declining, yes

In addition to the tendency to make things iconic is also the tendency to destroy these iconic things once they are, in some measure, "explained". The plane - back into the ocean. The numbers/the hatch - exploded. Nikki and Paulo - buried alive... Wait, they weren't iconic... They were forced on us and annoying
