Tobias has only just returned before she does and he looks over and bobs his head from where he sits on his perch. He doesn't ask where she's been, even if the bag does make him curious.
It's rare that they lie to each other anyway. There hasn't been a need to... in a long time.
She looks over at him on his perch and smiles. It might not be a beam exactly, but she's certainly pleased to see him. Even when things are difficult and stressed between them, she's never unhappy to have Tobias here with her.
"Good hunting?" Rachel asks, tossing the bag to the floor and sitting down next to it, starting to shake out the newspaper.
"That might go for the world as a whole," Rachel points out with a small frown, though there's nothing particularly morbid to it. Half the frown is for trying to flatten wrinkled newspaper.
As for the errand, she glances up at him and hesitates. Not to keep it from him, but for not knowing quite how to phrase. "I guess... well, Jo thinks it's about December, maybe later. She wants to have a Christmas party."
She pauses again, shrugs, and nods to her shopping bag. "So... presents."
