DDIO. Legacy.

DCA - Direct Cache Access. The feature allows PCIe read adding a hint to the transaction body that will initiate a cache line prefetch for the data being read from the device, so it gets to the LLC of the reader core faster than usual (saving a mandatory cache miss). Has to be supported by device driver and PCIe device manufacturer. Old feature, used to be marketed as part of Intel IOAT (IO Acceleration Technology)

DDIO - Direct IO. Places incoming PCIe read data directly to a pre-defined area of LLC of the reader core. (Better than DCA as it does not require prefetch) Has to be enabled for specific PCIe slot, no support from device driver is required. Available starting from Xeon EP SNB.
