Excellent story. I found this on fanfiction.net and followed the links on your profile to this page.
I think you did a brilliant job capturing Alfred and his relationship with both Thomas Wayne and Bruce. You show us that Alfred is, indeed, the one who keeps Bruce on an even keel! I also enjoyed your attention to the details of the sitting room and Alfred's fretting rituals (like crossing and uncrossing his legs.)
Thank you for this story--I'm looking forward to reading others by you.
Hi Rose, nice to meet you. I'm so glad you liked the story, and I want to thank you for the review both here and on your rec blog. That was really nice of you. Thanks again! ^^
Also, I see you're a Christian Bale fan. I've been meaning to see more of his films. Got a bunch of them lined up on Netflix. Any recs on which ones I should start with? The only films of his I've seen so far other than Batman Begins are 3:10 to Yuma and American Psycho.
My pleasure--I'm just happy to have found an excellent author to read! Oh, I was going to come back and mention that I had reviewed it on my new fan-fic reveiw blog, but you beat me to it, lol.
At the risk of sounding mushy, I love Christian Bale in 'Little Women.' Yeah, it's a chick flick, but it's a worthwhile one, I promise!
For a complete non-chick-flick, try 'Rescue Dawn.' Great escape / survival story and great buddy moments.
I'm also partial to 'The Prestige,' by I'd be hard pressed to say why. It's got a great cast (Michael Caine and Hugh Jackman are in there too) but it's an uneven film. Nonetheless, I've watched it a few times now.
At any event, there's no wrong choice. With some of the films, you'll just end up saying, "Hmmm. That was a terrible movie! Christian Bale was great, but that was really awful!" (And, for the record, that sums up my feelings for American Psycho...)
Thanks again--I'm setting aside some time this weekend to check out more of your stories =)
Oh, I forgot to mention one! Believe it or not CB once played Jim Hawkins in a made-for-TV 'Treasure Island' film--he was brilliant and so was the film. It's hard to find, though, as it's not availabe on DVD. But you may stumble on the video or a re-broadcast on TV.
Sorry--you should've known better than to get a Balehead started!
