And you can take that flippin' celery with you, too!

Did you know that if you google, "chicken soup 'without carrots'", the links you get are all along the lines of, "I can't imagine chicken soup without carrots," or "what is chicken soup without carrots?" The kind I freakin' like, that's what it is. Bah.

I like carrots well enough, but I figure you can replace them with onions. Extra onions. ALL THE ONIONS! Fuck off the chicken, just give me onion soup. Or fried onions. Actually, I'll just eat a raw onion, thanks.

I can't do most onions raw but a caramelized onion or an onion deeply roasted with a good cut of beef is a beautiful thing.

This reminds me of my chicken pot pie issues. Know what I want in my chicken pot pie? Chicken, gravy, pie crust. I don't want carrots. I don't want peas. It's not called chicken and celery pot pie!

I'm with you on chicken soup as well.

Oof, yeah, that's a tough one for you! Why shouldn't someone make pot pie that way, darnit? "I want a luxury pot pie--don't fill it out with vegetables; what am I paying you for? Fill the vegetable space with MORE CHICKEN."

Even just more gravy or leaving it half-filled would be better for me. I hate having to pick all the things I don't like out!

I really should try making my own one day...

Marie Callendars makes them with no peas at all. It's awesome. Sure, there are some veg - mushrooms and stuff like that - but no peas or mushy carrots. When I was a kid I tried to get the one with the fewest peas. Mom made me eat them anyway, and then when I was an adult she confessed she didn't like them either.

Chicken soup should come with noodles. And maybe some green specky things (parsley? I don't know what it is.) That's all.

Carrots are for bunnies.

I don't get celery. At all. It just confuses me. Why not eat balsa wood?
