Oh man, I didn't miss Hogwarts at all in this one. Too much of the pretty scenery to look at, and I loved seeing Godric's Hollow and Shell Cottage and the Forest of Dean and all that.
See, I feel like I can get scenery from any non-HP quest story. For HP I want a school story! I want the familiar structure at which Rowling is so masterful. So that's why DH was a problem for me from first go.
The cinematography was just lovely, though. Really great in IMAX!
I am dreading that damn camping trip. I only read the book once because I was so disappointed in it and I have forgotten most of it except how dull and dragged out that DCT was.
At least it's better being shown it than it is being told about it. Visually watching the angst is more engaging, I can say that for it. And the acting's good. (Look at me, defending it. :D Well, I guess I do want to make the point that the film did the best it could with what it was given. A lot like HBP IMHO.)
Lucius all broken and desperate and too terrified of Voldemort's legilimency to plot revenge for what he has do e to his PimpCane! And his home and family, too. And Draco protecting Harry and their silent eyefucking communications show how desperate both of them are. And in July we do get to go back to Hogwarts, so there's that to look forward to.
